ABOUT
3Gear Systems was founded in 2010 by Robert Wang while he was a graduate student at MIT. Robert's thesis research explored novel computer interfaces based on 3-D motion capture. Inspired by early work in virtual reality, Robert sought to bring 3-D gestural interfaces to the masses. Thus 3Gear Systems was born.
3Gear's mission is to develop application specific gestural interfaces that are competitive with the mouse and keyboard in usability. Our experience with computer vision technology allows us to deliver a comfortable and enjoyable user experience, avoiding obstructive sensors or bulky gloves typically used in motion capture. Our focus is on empowering users by enabling them to transfer the gestures they already know from the physical world to explore and manipulate a virtual world.
